Let’s take care of ourselves together.

Living your best and most healthful life is not always easy. I’m here to walk with you every step of the way.

Believe me, I get it.

Having dealt with chronic illness caused by obesity I hit a lowpoint both personally and professionally.

My challenges with weight began as a child. Not only did I struggle with my weight, but my self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth were basically non-existent. Trying every weight-loss trend and fad diet, I spent three decades on the rollercoaster of yo-yo dieting. While some of the weight would come off I found it came right back. My obesity contributed to several health issues including hypertension stage 1, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), constant heartburn, arthritis, and lower limb muscle fatigue.

After a health scare, I knew I had to make some crucial changes in my life.

Working with my own health coach lead me to discover what healthy eating truly meant—and how I could do it without dieting or deprivation.

Several years ago I implemented the L.E.A.N. approach — which focuses on Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition. I healed my mind and body and lost over 120 pounds in the process. Health is not all about what the number says on the scale, but weight can certainly play a role. That’s what I’m here for, to help you create and maintain a manageable plan for a healthy lifestyle.

Thanks to my natural process, I’ve sustained my weight loss and my previous issues connected to being overweight all disappeared.

This is possible for you, too.

Realizing the link between diet and disease during my own body and mind transformation, I pursued earning a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and obtained my designation as a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. I am also a licensed Food for Life instructor with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine where I teach plant-based nutrition and cooking classes throughout my community. I also earned a Forks Over Knives Plant-Based Certification through Rouxbe Online Culinary School and became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Throughout my health journey, community has been essential. That’s what inspired me to open my plant-based nutrition and culinary center, Shauné’s Kitchen — a dedicated space and community hub where people can learn, taste, and experience how whole food, plant-based nutrition can be used as a practical tool for prevention, healing, and long-term wellness.

Speaking of nutrition, one of my passions is cooking. In 2020 I published my first cookbook, Fresh, Healthy & Indulgent Eats, which includes plant-forward recipes I’ve perfected during my wellness journey. The following year I developed The Shauné Life line of spices — because life should be spicy!
